DATA PRIVACY NOTICE

1. Your Privacy Matters

At J.K. Brock Builders (Dereham) Ltd we take your privacy seriously and will only use your data to administer your account and to provide the service you have requested from us.

Please note that a separate Privacy document is in place for employees of this firm.

This document relates to our customers, suppliers and subcontractors.

2. Who Are We?

J. K. Brock Builders (Dereham) Ltd will be what is known as the ‘Controller’ of the personal data you provide to us. The Company’s registration numbers and registered address can be found at the top of this sheet. The Company is registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (Ref: A8599985).

The office administrator and manager of J. K. Brock Builders (Dereham) Ltd at ground level decide how your personal data is gathered, stored, processed and for what purposes.

3. Your Personal Data – What Is It?

Personal data relates to a living individual who can be identified from that data. Identification can be by the information alone or in conjunction with any other information in the data controller’s possession or likely to come into such possession. The processing of personal data is governed by the General Data Protection Regulation (the “GDPR”).

Unless otherwise agreed with you, we will only collect basic personal data about you, which does not include any special categories of information (sensitive personal data). This information does, however, include the likes of your name, telephone number, address and email address and, in some cases, bank details (i.e. account name, sort code and account number).

4. Why Do We Need It?

We use your data to administer your account, to provide the service requested from us or by us and to assert our right to be recompensed in return for these services, as per the services agreement or contract we have with you, or to be able to recompense you. If you do not provide this information then we will be unable to provide the services you have requested. We will not collect any personal data from you that we do not need in order to provide the agreed services.

5. How Do We Process Your Personal Data?

J. K. Brock Builders complies with its obligations under the “GDPR” by keeping personal data up to date; by storing and destroying it securely; by not collecting or retaining excessive amounts of data; by protecting personal data from loss, misuse, unauthorised access and disclosure and by ensuring that appropriate technical measures are in place to protect personal data. These procedures are carried out, for example, by keeping paper forms of data in secured cupboards and filing cabinets with restricted access, keeping paper copies on the firm’s premises only and by password protection on the computer and on programmes on the computer.

6. What Is The Legal Basis For Processing Your Personal Data?

• Explicit consent of the data subject so that we can keep you informed about the service/work you have requested from us or that we have requested from you and to process payments to or from our account for these services;

• Contracts drawn up for the supply of materials and/or subcontract work;

• Contracts drawn up between the client and the firm to undertake building work;

• Processing is necessary for carrying out obligations under employment, social security or social protection law.

7. Sharing Your Personal Data

J.K. Brock Builders (Dereham) Ltd will treat your personal data as strictly confidential and will not pass on your personal data to other people without obtaining your consent.

Only the data necessary to provide the service you have requested would ever be passed on to subcontractors or suppliers of materials to deliver to site. This data would be relayed by telephone under most circumstances.

8. How Long Do We Keep Your Personal Data?

We will generally keep your personal data for a minimum of six years, after which time it will be destroyed if it is no longer required for the lawful purposes for which it was obtained. Paper copies of data are shredded and then incinerated; electronic copies are deleted from files.

9. Your Rights And Your Personal Data Copy

Unless subject to an exemption under the GDPR, you have the following rights with respect to your personal data: –

• The right to request a copy of your personal data which J.K. Brock Builders (Dereham) Ltd holds about you;

• The right to request that J.K. Brock Builders (Dereham) Ltd corrects any personal data if it is found to be inaccurate or out of date;

• The right to request your personal data is erased where it is no longer necessary for J.K. Brock Builders (Dereham) Ltd to retain such data;

• The right to withdraw your consent to the processing at any time

• The right to request that the data controllers provide the data subject with his/her personal data and where possible, to transmit that data directly to another data controller, (known as the right to data portability), (where applicable) [Only applies where the processing is based on consent or is necessary for the performance of a contract with the data subject and in either case the data controller processes the data by automated means].

• The right, where there is a dispute in relation to the accuracy or processing of your personal data, to request a restriction is placed on further processing;

• The right to object to the processing of personal data, (where applicable) [Only applies where processing is based on legitimate interests (or the performance of a task in the public interest/exercise of official authority); direct marketing and processing for the purposes of scientific/historical research and statistics]

• The right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioners Office.

10. Further Processing and Changes To This Privacy Notice

If we wish to use your personal data for a new purpose, not covered by this Data Protection Notice, then we will provide you with a new notice explaining this new use prior to commencing the processing and setting out the relevant purposes and processing conditions. Where and whenever necessary, we will seek your prior consent to the new processing. This privacy notice will be reviewed annually and amended as necessary or as any legal alterations come in to force.

11. Website Information

If visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection. If you use our Contact Form, we only retain your data whilst we deal with your enquiry. If the website uses cookies to improve your experience, you will be given the option to opt-out if you wish. These cookies will last for one year. Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website. These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracing your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website. If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue. Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service. We do not share your data with any other parties.
